Clackamas County, Oregon (OR) – On April 15, 2026, Oregon State Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash in Clackamas County, OR.
According to preliminary findings, a white Dodge Ram driven by 39-year-old Alen Hatunic of Portland was traveling westbound near Welches when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck crossed the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree head-on. At the time of the crash, the road was covered in snow and hail. A rear passenger, 34-year-old Nina Westbrook of Gresham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hatunic sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Another passenger, 39-year-old Eugene Bryce Westbrook of Portland, was also taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A 2-year-old female passenger was transported with minor injuries. Highway 26 was impacted for about three hours, with weather, road conditions, and speed contributing to the crash.
Oregon State Police were assisted by local law enforcement, fire crews, EMS, and ODOT.
