Marion County, California (OR) – On March 30, 2026, Oregon State Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash in Marion County, OR.
According to the preliminary investigation, a silver Honda Civic driven by Romaldo Lopez Lopez, 31-year-old, of Salem, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Woodburn when it collided head-on with a white Acura ZDX driven by Casey Chia Liu, 43-year-old, of Beaverton.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. Liu suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. The crash closed or impacted the highway for about four hours while investigators worked at the scene.
Oregon State Police was assisted by local agencies.
