Salt Lake County County, Utah (Salt Lake City, UT) – On August 7, 2021, at about 1:15 A.M. Early Saturday morning around Salt Lake City a 26-year-old bride dies on her back from her wedding reception after a car moving the wrong way on a highway hit her car.
The bride was identified as Angelica Dhondup was heading home from her wedding in her Toyota Corolla when a silver Toyota truck traveling the wrong side of the highway struck Dhondup’s car head-on. The victim sustained critical injuries from the crash while a 20-year-old female occupant sustained minor injuries and was brought to a hospital.
Dhondup was heading home with her cousin to drop off wedding gifts and she was still wearing her wedding dress. After the incident, the victim was still able to call her sister and informed her that she was hurt and couldn’t breathe.
The operator of the Toyota truck, was identified as Manaure Gonzales-Rea, 36-year-old, was arrested and brought to Salt Lake County Jail. He was DUI, and now facing automobile homicide criminal negligence DUI, reckless driving, and failure to remain at an accident involving death and theft.
