Tillamook County, Oregon (OR) – On Sunday, October 31, 2021 at around 4:16 AM, OSP rescued a two-car head-on accident that happened on Highway 6 close to milepost 8.
According to preliminary investigation, a silver 2018 Ford F150 pickup driven by Bradley Burton Harris, 29-year-old of Tillamook was traveling westbound when it crossed over into the eastbound lane and collided with a black Mazda MZ3 driven by Humberto Maciel, 47-year-old of Tillamook. Both trucks were severely damaged and came to a halt, obstructing the whole roadway.
Maciel died from his injuries. His passenger, Breanna Maciel, a 19-year-old, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital. Harris left the scene immediately after the collision, but was apprehended by police four hours later near the scene. They took Harris to Tillamook Regional Medical Center for injuries before being moved as a trauma patient to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital. Harris is the subject of a criminal investigation that is still ongoing.
They shut Highway 6 down for six hours.
