Los Angeles County, California (Hacienda Heights, CA) – On May 11, 2025, one person died and others were injured in a serious collision involving an SUV and a tour bus in Hacienda Heights, CA.
According to Los Angeles County firefighters, the Nissan SUV was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP reported that 63 people were onboard the bus at the time of the crash. While the tour bus did not catch fire, two individuals were critically injured, and 32 others were taken to the hospital with various injuries.
CHP stated that the Nissan SUV was stalled on the 60 Freeway when the tour bus rear-ended it. The bus then swerved to the right, crossing all westbound lanes before crashing into a guardrail along the shoulder.
The reason for the Nissan SUV being stopped on the roadway is unclear, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
