Los Angeles County, California (Long Beach, CA) – On February 21, 2026, four individuals lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash that caught fire early in Long Beach, CA.
The crash occurred around 1:18 a.m. near East Spring Street and Lakewood Boulevard in Long Beach. Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to the scene and found a gray sedan that had left the southbound lanes and struck a concrete median inside the tunnel beneath the airport. The vehicle caught fire following the impact.
Firefighters located four people inside the car and pronounced them dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released. Authorities said it is too early to determine the cause of the crash, though speed and possible impairment are being investigated as factors.
Lakewood Boulevard was closed for several hours as investigator reviewed the scene.
