Yolo County, California (Woodland, CA) – On March 9, 2026, according to the CHP, two people were killed, and another person was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash in Woodland, CA.
The collision occurred around 11:59 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of County Road 8, CHP officials said. Investigators reported that a Honda, driven by a single occupant, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Toyota that was heading south.
Authorities said the Honda driver and a passenger in the Toyota died as a result of their injuries. The Toyota driver was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. CHP officials believe alcohol and/or drugs may have played a role in the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing.
