Salt Lake County, Utah (Salt Lake, UT) – On March 25, 2026, a deadly pedestrian crash killed one after being struck by a car in Salt Lake, UT.
Authorities said the victim, who has not yet been identified, was crossing Redwood Road about 15 feet outside a crosswalk when a southbound vehicle struck them. The driver was unable to see the pedestrian in time to stop. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.
Officials are reminding the public to use designated crosswalks, noting that drivers are more likely to watch for pedestrians in those areas. Following the crash, Redwood Road was closed in both directions, with northbound traffic stopped at 1700 South and southbound lanes blocked at California Avenue/1300 South. Motorists were advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.
The incident remains under investigation.
