Crook County, Oregon (Prineville, OR) – On April 24, 2026, Oregon State Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist in Crook County, OR.
According to the preliminary investigation, a white Ford Expedition driven by Abigail Marie Hedges, 36-year-old, of Prineville, was traveling southbound on Combs Flat Road (Highway 380) near SE 5th Street when it struck bicyclist Monte Scott Greene, 57-year-old, also of Prineville. Greene was pronounced dead at the scene. Hedges was not injured in the crash.
Investigators believe impairment may have been a contributing factor, and Hedges was arrested on suspicion of DUII. The crash remains under investigation. The highway was closed or impacted for about four hours while crews conducted the on-scene investigation.
Assisting agencies included local law enforcement, fire crews, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
