Wasco County, Oregon (OR) – On May 5, 2026, the Oregon State Police assisted in a pedestrian accident in Wasco County, OR.
According to the preliminary investigation, a blue Peterbilt semi-truck with trailer driven by Larry Wayne Lorenz, 60-year-old, of Spokane, Washington, was traveling southbound near Bake Oven Road when it struck a pedestrian walking in the roadway.
The pedestrian, Lutah Avis Wallulatum, 42-year-old, of Warm Springs, was then struck by a second unidentified vehicle traveling northbound. Investigators believe she had been walking along the highway after the vehicle she was riding in became disabled nearby. Wallulatum was pronounced dead at the scene. Lorenz was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators. The highway was affected for about 4.5 hours during the investigation.
OSP was assisted by local emergency responders and transportation officials.
