Kern County, California (Bakersfield, CA) – On May 10, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol man was killed in a crash Bakersfield, CA.
CHP said officers responded around 1:58 a.m. on May 10, 2026, to northbound Highway 99 near Hosking Avenue following reports of a two-vehicle collision. Investigators said an unidentified man was driving a 2015 black Honda Civic northbound in the number three lane at a high speed. A 34-year-old Delano man was driving a 2019 Peterbilt semi-truck ahead of the Honda in the same lane at about 55 mph.
The Honda driver died, and the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries. The Honda driver died at the scene, while the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized.
Weather was clear, and it’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved.
