Los Angeles County, California (South Los Angeles, CA) – On May 12, 2026, one person died and two others suffered critical injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles, CA.
The collision occurred around 2 p.m. near Vermont Street and Colden Avenue in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities are still investigating what led up to the incident.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Officials said at least six vehicles were involved in the crash. Videos shared on social media showed extensive damage to several vehicles, including one car that appeared to be split in half. A black SUV was seen overturned on its roof atop the center divider along Vermont Avenue.
The debris was scattered throughout the intersection as investigators examined the scene.
