Riverside County, California (Riverside, CA) – On July 27, 2022, a fiery car accident killed an individual and injured four others in Riverside on Wednesday morning.
A heartbreaking rescue was caught on video in the middle of the freeway. The incident took place after midnight in the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway along Van Buren Boulevard and Adams Street.
In a video clip caught by Eyewitness News, a car is seen colliding into a wall along the freeway and immediately caught fire. A witness tried to save someone from the incident. It was seen in the video that the witness helped a patient get to a secure location. According to officials, the fire from the incident spread quickly. Firefighters were then dispatched to the 8700 block of Indiana Avenue when vegetation caught fire behind an apartment building. Two individuals were severely hurt, while two others received minor injuries. A fifth individual was killed at the scene.
According to fire authorities, no structures were destroyed and no occupants were evacuated as a result of the building fire. The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
