Stanislaus County, California (Modesto, CA) – On May 8, 2022, three men escaped on foot following a DUI hit-and-run incident involving three cars.
The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m. on Albers Road south of Dusty Lane. According to preliminary investigation, Carlo Higuerra, 26-year-old of Los Angeles, was operating a 2003 Volkswagen sedan north of Albers with two other occupants. Higuerra drove his vehicle across the southbound lane, where it collided with a 2016 Nissan SUV operated by Dalton Binda, 32-year-old, of Turlock.
According to Olsen, Higuerra and his companions fled west toward a canal following the incident. Officers from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office helped the CHP in identifying, arresting, and bringing the men to the collision site. Higuerra sustained minor injuries and, once medically cleared, will face criminal charges of DUI and hit-and-run harming people.The travellers, whose names were not revealed until Sunday morning, face no penalties. Binda also sustained minor injuries and was sent to Memorial Medical Center by ambulance for medical attention.
Cheyenne Souza, 21-year-old, of Denair, was driving the third car, a 2022 Kia sedan. When VW and the Nissan crashed, her automobile was hit by debris. But she was unharmed.
