Deschutes County, Oregon (OR) – On April 14, 2022, a two-car incident occurred around 1:05 PM at Hwy 20E close to milepost 13, OSP Troopers and emergency staff attended the area.
Based on initial investigations, a white Ford F250, driven by Joshua Hart, 32-year-old of Bend, was westbound and for unidentified reasons stopped all of a sudden and slipped into the eastbound lane, crashing with a black GMC 3500 pickup towing a 35′ gooseneck trailer.
The GMC was driven by Ricky Phillips, a 61-year-old in Puyallup, WA. The Ford vehicle flipped and came to a halt in the middle of the highway with both the operator and occupant thrown outside. Hart and an unidentified passenger were sent to a nearby hospital with significant injuries. An adult dog died in the Ford truck, but two puppies survived. Phillips was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
The road was blocked for around 2 hours.
