Los Angeles County, California (San Pedro, CA) – On June 26, 2022, an incident in the San Pedro neighborhood almost turned into a multi-car incident when a driver struck an electric pole and left the scene.
The incident happened at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. A Toyota Highlander was driving down 25th Street at the junction with Meyler Street. A Toyota Highlander is seen rushing down the street in footage from a home surveillance camera facing the street. After a few seconds, look for the Honda Element in the far right corner. When the operator detects the approaching Highlander, the Element comes to a halt. This incident might have been much worse if that element had not stopped.
The Highlander proceeded until it collided with an electricity pole and the barrier of a house down the street. The impact’s speed and force led the automobile to come to a stop on its side. The crash knocked off electricity to the whole neighborhood. Those who witnessed the collision hurried to assist the driver in getting out of the automobile. But, for whatever reason, he beat them off and ran away. The motorist is still being sought, and the scene is being investigated.
