San Diego County, California (CA) – On November 6, 2023, a deadly collision occurred on the southbound Interstate 805 Freeway near the Interstate 5 Freeway interchange in San Diego, CA.
At 9:00 p.m., the rider was stopped on the interstate for an unidentified cause when an approaching SUV collided with the motorcycle. The cyclist was knocked off his bike and landed in another lane, where he was struck by another car, which did not stop. Sadly, the motorcyclist died on the spot after suffering severe injuries. His identity has not been disclosed by the San Diego Medical Examiner.
To identify the cause of the crash, investigators blocked both of the southbound I-805 right lanes. Police claim that only the driver of the Honda stopped, and that person was not impaired by drugs or alcohol. For motorcyclists, a toxicology report is still pending.
