Klamath County, Oregon (OR) – On December 21, 2025, a tragic three-car collision resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries in Klamath County, OR.

Oregon State Police arrived at the scene near milepost 181 at approximately 9:55 a.m. to investigate the pileup. The preliminary OSP investigation suggests that icy pavement played a significant role in the sequence of events. Cindy Rose Pearce, 59-year-old, of Bend, was traveling southbound in a gold Chevrolet Silverado when she lost control of the pickup. The vehicle crossed the center line into the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a black Toyota Tacoma driven by Kristara Leah Lopez, 47-year-old, of Coos Bay.

Following the initial impact, the Silverado struck a northbound blue Dodge Ram that was towing a small trailer. The Dodge was operated by 68-year-old Carl Michael Kelley of Oakridge. Emergency responders confirmed that the driver of the Toyota, Kristara Leah Lopez, passed away at the scene.

The investigation and debris removal caused significant travel delays, with the highway impacted for roughly five hours. OSP was aided on-site by the Crescent Fire District and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
