A Pedestrian Fatally Hit Thrice in Fullerton, CA
June 28, 2022

Orange County, California (Fullerton, CA) – On June 27, 2022, a pedestrian was run over and killed by three hit-and-run cars in Fullerton on Monday morning.

At about 1:30 a.m., the Fullerton Police Department was alerted of the deadly collision. The collision happened between the junction of Harbor Boulevard and Southgate Avenue. When authorities arrived, they saw a pedestrian laying on the roadway with his things. He suffered significant, even fatal injuries. According to authorities, the 38-year-old victim was taken to a hospital and declared dead.

As per the Orange County coroner’s office, the deceased was Kenneth Edward Wassennar II, a Fullerton native who was presumed to be homeless. According to authorities, the man was pulling a shopping cart across the intersection’s northern crosswalk, westbound across Harbor Boulevard, despite a red light. According to reports, the man was hit initially by a white Dodge Charger that was driving through the intersection and heading south on Harbor Boulevard on a green signal. The motorist did not come to a halt. A black Jeep Wrangler, also going south, hit the victim and did not stop. Approximately two minutes later, the third vehicle, a white, two-door Honda Civic driving in the same direction, struck the pedestrian a third time and refused to stop.

Authorities have not released any details about potential suspects. As per the news release, Harbor Boulevard will be blocked both ways from Orangethorpe and Knepp avenues for many hours owing to the investigation. Anyone with details on the event is asked to call Fullerton Police Accident Investigator J. Feaster at (714) 738-6812. Anonymous tips can also be left with Orange County Crime Stoppers by calling (855) 847-6227.
