San Diego County, California (El Cajon, CA) – On September 12, 2022, an individual died and another was hurt in a single vehicle collision in El Cajon, CA.
The incident took place shortly before 2 a.m. According to Lt. Darrin Forster of the El Cajon Police Department, officers and EMS personnel were sent out to the 1500 block of Greenfield Drive for reports of a car that had slammed into a power pole and a brick wall.
Both the 37-year-old female operator and the 45-year-old male occupant were extracted from the truck and taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The man was later declared dead. Authorities say the woman is likely to survive. According to authorities, the vehicle appeared to be moving westbound on Greenfield Drive when the motorist lost control and shifted off the road.
It is uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this incident.
