Coos County, Oregon (OR) – On December 22, 2025, a Myrtle Point woman died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 42 in Coos County, OR.
According to the Oregon State Police, troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian near milepost 20 at approximately 5:19 p.m. Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that a white Ford Ranger was traveling eastbound when it hit 29-year-old Faith Scarlet Rose Andersen. Authorities stated that Andersen was standing in the lane of travel at the time of the collision, though it remains unclear why she was in the roadway.
Emergency responders pronounced Andersen dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Ranger, identified as 45-year-old Crystal Leann Joffroy of Coos Bay, was uninjured in the crash. Traffic on the highway was reportedly not impacted while investigators processed the scene.
The Oregon State Police were assisted in the response by the Myrtle Point Police Department, Myrtle Point Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
