Santa Barbara County, California (Orcutt, CA) – On July 2, 2022, the California Highway Patrol San Luis Obispo published fresh information concerning an accident involving a person who was allegedly driving while intoxicated. Two patients were seriously injured.
At 10:23 p.m., CHP SLO reacted to an accident along Highway 135 and Union Valley Parkway in Orcutt. Authorities reported discovering an overturned 1997 Nissan just east of the highway. Both the 75-year-old male operator and the 75-year-old female occupant from Santa Maria were sent to Marian Hospital after suffering serious injuries.
A 2007 Honda was also involved in the accident. The operator, a 62-year-old Lompoc male, was unharmed. Authorities found after an investigation that the 62-year-old male was driving under the influence at the time of the incident. The man was charged with DUI and causing bodily harm.
The incident is being investigated.
