Sacramento County, California (Citrus Heights, CA) – On January 22, 2023, two people were killed in a car accident in Citrus Heights, CA.
The Citrus Heights Police Department received multiple 911 reports of an accident involving two automobiles and a pedestrian on Auburn Blvd. near Cobalt Wy at 7:45 p.m., as reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department, police responded to the scene and discovered a pedestrian laying on the road; unfortunately, the victim died.
Authorities also assisted the motorists of both automobiles, who were then transferred to nearby hospitals by fire personnel. One motorist was killed, while the other has mild to serious injuries and is being treated. Although the specific cause of the collision is still being examined, authorities believe speed appears to have had a role. It’s unclear whether drink or drugs played a role. The Citrus Heights Police Department’s Traffic Unit rushed to the scene to examine the incident. Auburn Blvd. between Cobalt Wy. and San Tomas Dr. will be blocked in both directions for several hours as the incident is examined. The identity of the slain pedestrian and motorist are being protected until the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office notifies the next of kin.
