Siskiyou County, California (Yreka, CA) – On September 16, 2022, following a vehicle collision, a minor was killed and another was airlifted to the University of California Davis Children’s Medical Center.
The young teenagers were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the collision at this moment.
Residents immediately called 911 at about 9:37 p.m. after discovering a car accident on Ager Road north of Shelly Road. CHP officials from Yreka, CAL FIRE Siskiyou unit, and Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene. Authorities from CAL FIRE first showed up and discovered two youths who had been removed from the wreckage.
One was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other was taken to Fairchild Medical Center before being flown back to Davis.
Because of their age, the teens’ names will not be released, according to the CHP.
