Orange County, California (Anaheim, CA) – On August 8, 2023, an off-duty Garden Grove police officer on his way home from work died in a car accident near Anaheim, CA.
Cpl. Han Cho was killed Monday after his motorbike and a car collided at Euclid Street and Glenoaks Avenue, according to Anaheim Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Jon McClintock. Officers arrived at the scene just after 3 p.m., he added. Cho and the other driver were both brought to the hospital, where Cho died, according to McClintock. The second driver became stuck inside the vehicle and had to be freed. He was injured in modest to moderate ways.
Cho has been a member of the police force for 28 years and was assigned to the Neighborhood Traffic Unit. The Garden Grove Police Association will work with Cho’s family on memorial arrangements and donations, according to a social media statement by the department.
The reason for the crash is being investigated, according to McClintock, who also stated that driving under the influence was not a role.
