Kern County, California (Bakersfield, CA) – On December 12, 2022, a vehicular accident killed 1 in the 6900 block of Spring Creek Loop in Bakersfield, CA.
Investigation shows that the vehicle was moving at a fast speed and drifted toward the right and smashed a semi-tractor parking in the area. Bakersfield Police Department went to the scene and located a single-vehicle accident around 6:13 p.m. Per a statement from BPD, a car was discovered with a man on the back of the wheel. The man appeared to have sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared dead on the spot.
Investigation reveals that the vehicle had been moving fast, drifted to the right, and hit a parked semi-tractor. Authorities state that there was someone in the semi-tractor, but no further details were released. Police say that speed seems to be the cause of the tragedy. The result of toxicology was waiting to determine if the accident is drug or alcohol related. The investigation is still in progress and witnesses are encouraged to participate to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
On the latest update, the man was identified as Jose de Jesus Cipres, a 37-year-old, of Zamudio.
