Merced County, California (Atwater, CA) – On August 30, 2023, the Atwater Police Department reported that an 8-year-old girl was one of the two people who died in an automobile in Atwater, CA.
According to police, around midnight on Saturday, they received a call about a collision near Buhach Road and Green Sands Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered a white automobile and a silver sedan involved in the collision.
26-year-old Stockton resident Joshua Hitto and an 8-year-old daughter who were occupants in one of the cars suffered fatal injuries and passed away at the site.
The incident is being investigated. It is not clear if alcohol or drugs played a role.
