Tillamook County, Oregon (OR) – On June 11, 2023, Oregon State Police reacted to a multi-vehicle incident on Hwy 18 at 2:41 p.m., near milepost 14, in Tillamook County, OR.
According to preliminary findings, a white Ford Transit van driven by William Nicolas Calderon, 20-year-old of Lincoln City was heading westbound on Highway 18 when it departed its lane of travel and side swiped a gray Honda Pilot driven by Joseph Daniel Davis, 59-year-old of Dallas. The Ford Transit then side swiped a gray Ford Ranger driven by 51-year-old Kory Lee Thomas of Salem. The Ford Transit was then rear-ended by a gray Subaru Crosstrek driven by Jennifer Marie Ahlstrom, 48-year-old, of Portland.
Calderon, the driver of the Ford Transit, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Honda Pilot (Davis) and Ford Ranger (Thomas) drivers were not hurt. The driver of the Subaru Crosstrek (Ahlstrom) was critically injured and was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter. Two adolescent occupants were transferred for treatment by ground ambulance.
During the on-scene inquiry, the route was closed for around 5 hours. The crash’s cause is being studied. Due to the ongoing investigation, OSP is unable to provide additional details at this time.
