Portland, Oregon – A semi-truck driver is dead on I-5 in Portland involving a semi-truck and trailer Wednesday night, August 21st.
The single-vehicle accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Southwest Barbur Boulevard exit at 8:45 PM.
The cause of the fiery crash is still unknown, witnesses at the scene stated that they saw the target trailer and truck veer accross the freeway and flames erupted from the truck. The Major Crash Team is investigating the crash.
Since I-5 is the biggest west coast artery it sees millions of semi-trucks travel the freeway each day. An accident involving a semi-truck often results in the most serious kinds of auto accident injuries. In this case no other vehicles were hit in the accident. As the results of the investigation is released it will be important to see what caused the crash and more importantly what caused the truck to erupt into flames which most lickly claimed the driver’s life.
