San Luis Obispo County, California (Arroyo Grande, CA) – On March 22, 2022, the California Highway Patrol said on Tuesday that a 16-year-old Oceano teenage girl succumbed to her injuries two days after a vehicle accident on March 15.
The incident occurred on Noyes Road, west of Sunray Place in Arroyo Grande, just before 5 p.m. on March 15, 2022. An 18-year-old teenage man was heading westbound on Noyes Rd when he tried his car off the road and up a wall of dirt, slamming into two wooden metal signs and a tree.
The teenage girl was seated in the backseat of the vehicle. When CHP went to the scene, the operator did not sustain any injuries but the 16-year-old was unconscious and unresponsive and taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The 16-year-old died from her injuries two days later, on March 17. Alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the incident.
