Lincoln County, Oregon (OR) – On March 18, 2022, at around 5:59 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency workers attended a two-car crash that happened on Highway 18 along milepost 7.
Based on initial investigations, an eastbound blue Ford F250 pickup driven by Daniel Toriz, 29-year-old of Salem, slammed a black Ford Focus driven by Erin Nash, 34-year-old of Lincoln City, when it drove immediately out of a parking lot in front of him. Nash tried to turn left and proceed westbound on Highway 18.
Nash was rescued from her car and sent to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. She died as a result of her injuries and was subsequently declared dead. The collision did not hurt Toriz or his two occupants, Juan Toriz Villafan, 34-year-old of Salem, and a young boy.
Highway 18 was stopped for more than three hours as the crash was investigated.
