Polk County, Oregon (OR) – On Thursday, June 15, 2023, Oregon State Police reacted to a two-vehicle collision at around 11:47 a.m. on Hwy 223 at the intersection on Rickreall Rd, in Polk County, OR.
An initial investigation revealed that Lorine M. Wooldridge, 66-year-old, of Dallas, was driving westbound on Hwy 223 when she took the exit at Rickreall Rd. Volkswagen then performed a U-turn on Rickreall Rd and returned the opposite way to Hwy 223. A white Ford F-150 driven by Perry G. Freeman II, 49-year-old of Dallas hit the Volkswagen in the drivers side door as it attempted to join back onto the interstate heading eastward.
Wooldridge, the driver of the Volkswagen, was declared dead at the scene. Margaret McCloud, 77-year-old, of Dallas, was a passenger in the Volkswagen who received significant injuries and was sent to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Ford (Freeman II) was unharmed. Perry Freeman III, 20-year-old of Dallas, a passenger in the Ford, was unharmed in the accident. During the on-scene inquiry, the route was closed for around 3 hours.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire, SW Polk Fire, and ODOT all aided OSP.
