Jackson County, Oregon (OR) – On May 27, 2023, at around 5:04 P.M., OSP attended to a two-car incident on HWY 62 along milepost 17 in Jackson County, OR.
According to early findings, Corey Hanley, 26-year-old of Central Point was driving a silver Subaru WRX westbound when it lost control and drifted into the eastbound lane, hitting a white Subaru Crosstrek driven by Barbara Badger, 80-year-old of Shady Cove.
The Subaru driver (Hanley) was taken to the hospital, where he was subsequently proclaimed dead. As a measure of safety, Crosstrek’s operator (Badger) was taken to the hospital. The highway was closed for around 2 hours while the on-scene investigation was carried out.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire, and ODOT also aided OSP.
