Los Angeles County, California (San Fernando Valley, CA) – On December 14, 2025, a deadly chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles leave one person dead and at least six others hurt in San Fernando Valley, CA.
The incident was reported shortly before 8:00 p.m. near the Sunland Boulevard exit in the Shadow Hills area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Fire crews arriving at the scene discovered that at least four vehicles had been involved. One individual, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced deceased at the location.
Emergency responders transported five people to a nearby hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to severe, while another individual declined medical treatment. Officials said three of the hospitalized victims, a 61-year-old woman and two men, ages 30-year-old and 40-year-old were listed in serious condition.
All westbound lanes were temporarily shut down under a SigAlert as California Highway Patrol officers worked to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities initially estimated the closure would last about three hours, though one lane was reopened to traffic shortly after 10:00 p.m. Aerial footage from SkyCal showed heavy congestion, with vehicles backed up for miles from the crash site.
