Columbia County, Oregon (OR) – On June 20, 2023, at around 5:16 A.M., OSP attended to a two-car accident on HWY 30 along milepost 41 in Columbia County, OR.
According to early findings, a westbound brown Honda CR-V driven by Jason Ray Bennett, 34-year-old of Clatskanie jumped the centerline for an unexplained cause. When the brown Honda CR-V entered the westbound lane, it struck with a westbound white 2022 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gregory Alan Woodall Jr, 50-year-old of Deer Island.
Bennett, the driver of the brown Honda CR-V, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white Chevrolet Silverado (Woodall Jr.) was unharmed and cooperated with the inquiry. During the on-scene inquiry, the route was closed for around 4.5 hours.
Columbia River Fire & Rescue, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and ODOT all aided the Oregon State Police.
