Tillamook County, Oregon (OR) – On November 18, 2023, two vehicles collided and OSP were called to the scene at HWY 26, near milepost 33, in Tillamook County, OR.
Around 5:12 a.m., a 23-year-old, Isaiah Rasheid Edlin, from Hillsboro, was driving a westbound Kia Optima when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with Carole Ann Klages, a 77-year-old from Warrenton, who was driving an eastbound Toyota Corolla. Prior to the collision, witnesses stated that the Kia had been seen making risky passes and speeding. The witness didn’t see the actual crash happen.
Edlin, Kia’s operator, and Karles, the driver of the Toyota, were both pronounced dead in the incident. The on-scene inquiry caused disruptions to the highway for around six hours.
ODOT, Banks Fire, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office all provided support to OSP.
