Malheur County, Oregon – On Wednesday, September 18th around noon a head on vehicle crash left both drivers deceased and their passenger hospitalized and HWY 20 closed for four hours while OST investigated the crash.
It appears that a 2006 Gulfstream Motorhome towing a Suzuki Samurai, driven by Richard Kozol (78) of Medford Oregon, was eastbound on Hwy 20 when for unknown reasons crossed into the oncoming lanes on on a curve. He collided with a westbound 2011 Ford F-250 towing a 30 ft travel trailer driven by John Haynes (72) of Palo Cedro, CA.
Both Kozol and Haynes were pronounce deseased.
The passenger in the Gulfstream, Barbara Kozol (73) of Medford, OR, was transported to St. Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho in an unknown condition.
The passenger in the Ford F-250, Debra Townsend (67) of Palo Cedro, CA, was transported to St. Alphonsus in Ontario, Oregon.
A head on car accident is of course one of the worst if not the worst type of car crash you can get in. In this case it is unfortunate two people lost their life while two others lost a friend and or a family member and are in the hospital. Consulting a lawyer if you are in an accident is important because they can work for the compensation you need for medical bills, pain and suffering and other costs that happen when you are in a car accident.
