San Diego County, California (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) – On February 8, 2026, authorities have released the identity of the man who died in a two-vehicle collision in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
The victim was identified as 53-year-old Fred Fuyao Liu of San Diego. Officials confirmed that his family has been notified.
The crash happened around 9:03 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Del Dios Highway and Luna de Miel. Investigators say Liu was driving a sedan when it collided with an SUV. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and attempted to save Liu’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the location due to severe blunt force trauma.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident and has classified the crash as an accident.
