Duchesne County, Utah (Roosevelt, UT) – On December 3, 2025, a 12-year-old girl died after being hit by a vehicle that ran a red light while she was crossing the street at a local intersection in Roosevelt, UT.
According to the Lakeside Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. The girl, identified only by her age, had been walking with a friend through a marked crosswalk on Pine Street at the intersection with 8th Avenue when a southbound driver reportedly ignored a red traffic signal. She was transported to a nearby hospital and was awaiting air transport for advanced treatment, but officials said she passed away from her injuries before the medical helicopter arrived.
As of Thursday morning, no charges had been filed. The Lakeside Police Department, working with the State Highway Patrol, said it is conducting a “thorough” and “comprehensive” investigation.
