Marion County, Oregon (OR) – On December 13, 2025, OSP were dispatched to a fatal traffic collision involving two vehicles on HWY 99E at the Quinaby Road NE intersection in Marion County, OR.
Initial findings indicate that a Dodge Charger driven by 30-year-old Juan Santiago Sandoval of Woodburn was stopped on Quinaby Road NE before attempting to turn north onto Highway 99E. During the maneuver, the vehicle entered the path of a southbound Yamaha XJ650 motorcycle operated by 22-year-old Xander Ashton Colter of Keizer, resulting in a side-impact crash.
Colter died on the spot. Sandoval and his passenger, 27-year-old Ricardo Alvarez Acosta of Woodburn, were not reported to have sustained injuries. Sandoval was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants. Authorities indicated that impairment is believed to be a significant factor in the crash.
Traffic along Highway 99E was affected for about five hours while investigators processed the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
