Lane County, Oregon (OR) – On June 17, 2025, Oregon State Police responded to a crash involving four vehicles on HWY 99 in Lane County, OR.
A preliminary investigation found that a white Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Sheldon Bryce Moore, slowed to turn on Highway 99 near milepost 10. A blue Mazda Tribute, driven by Joseph Peters, rear-ended a white Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Tenielle Long-Piccolo, which was behind the Silverado. The Mazda then veered into the northbound lane and crashed into a Ford F-350 towing a loaded dump trailer driven by Marcelo Garcia.
Mazda driver Joseph Peters was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later died on June 20, 2025. The Chevrolet Tahoe driver, Tenielle Long-Piccolo, along with two girls aged 14 and 9, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Ford F-350 driver Marcelo Garcia reported minor injuries but wasn’t hospitalized, while Chevrolet Silverado driver Sheldon Moore was uninjured.
The highway was closed for about three hours while the scene was investigated. The crash is still under investigation.
