Los Angeles County, California (Boyle Heights, CA) – On November 15, 2025, at least one person lost their life in a two-vehicle collision in Boyle Heights, CA.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway, just east of Cesar Chavez Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. Two vehicles crashed in the slick conditions, leaving one car emitting smoke and the other turned the wrong way in the traffic lanes.
CHP reports initially showed that all westbound lanes were stopped as emergency crews responded. By about 5 a.m., only the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes remained shut down while officers conducted a hard closure for their investigation. A SigAlert was issued for roughly an hour and a half, and motorists were advised to expect delays.
Officials confirmed that one individual died at the scene. No additional injuries have been reported. The cause of the crash is still being examined. It is not yet known whether the wet roadway contributed to the collision.
