Solano County, California (Vallejo, CA) – On Thursday, March 9, 2023, one person died in a crash on the Interstate 80 Freeway’s eastbound lanes, east of the Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza in Vallejo, California.
At around 4:01 in the morning, a pedestrian attempted to cross I-80 but was hit by multiple vehicles near the Sonoma Boulevard off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol and SF Gate, and they issued a SigAlert at 4:38 am, followed by closing the lanes down.
According to the initial report, a collision was blocking the roadway and one vehicle could not be driven. Someone called 911 to report the crash in Vallejo, and a tow truck came out, but the vehicle was unmovable. At 4:33 am, a pick-up truck collided with the first vehicle. At 4:49 am, the California Highway Patrol requested for a coroner to come to the crash site.
