Fresno County, California (Fresno, CA) – On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Southern Elm and Eastern California avenues in Fresno, CA.
The accident happened at 9:30 p.m., slightly west of Interstates 99 and 41. A Nissan Altima going northbound on South Elm Avenue in southwest Fresno hit the man. The woman driving the Nissan collided with the man as he attempted to cross California Avenue.
Authorities suspect the woman could not avoid colliding with the man in the street. The victim sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Meanwhile, the motorist came to a halt and stayed at the scene of the accident near California Avenue and Elm Avenue in Fresno. According to investigators, she is collaborating with the inquiry.
According to authorities, this is the ninth deadly collision in Fresno this year.
