Los Angeles County, California (Long Beach, CA) – On Monday, November 13, 2023, a pedestrian died in a severe collision near a 7-Eleven in Long Beach, CA.
Around 6:00 p.m., near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and Pacific Coast Highway, the Long Beach Fire Department responded. Despite receiving medical attention from paramedics, the unidentified pedestrian passed away at the site, according to police. A vehicle that looked to be broken in two and another vehicle that had some damage were shown in AIR7 HD footage. In the parking area close to the 7-Eleven, a bus bench that had been torn from the sidewalk was lying down.
Investigators say the driver of one of the cars was transferred to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. At the scene, the second vehicle received medical attention. Police are still looking into the cause of the crash, although they believe speed may have played a role. According to Long Beach police, two other car owners reported minor damage to their vehicles.
There were no other details at this time.
