Shasta County, California (Shasta, CA) – On June 5, 2023, a woman was murdered when a vehicle going at high speeds during a road rage altercation collided with her automobile on Highway 273 in Anderson, CA.
According to the Anderson Police Department (APD), the incident occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. Officers attended a two-vehicle incident along Highway 273 and Pinion Avenue in Anderson. APD authorities said they determined through their investigation of the tragedy that the operator of the vehicle involved, 31-year-old Andrew Millner of Redding, had been following a motorcycle in an episode of road rage that began between Highway 273 and Westside Road in Redding.
Authorities claim that throughout the pursuit, Millner and the biker he was following reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour while failing to halt at many lights on their way from Redding to Anderson. The biker stopped at a red light at the junction of 273 and Pinion, however Millner did not, instead speeding through the intersection and colliding with another car. The driver of the second car was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries incurred in the incident, according to officials. The victim’s name has not been published by authorities.
A DUI exam was done on Millner by a Drug Recognition Expert, who found that he was driving under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident. Millner was brought into custody and put into the Shasta County Jail on many offences, including murder and DUI inflicting serious bodily harm or death.
