Fresno County, California (CA) – On Sunday, May 7, 2023, a minor died in a high-speed rollover incident in Fresno County, CA.
The deadly accident occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Highway 198, immediately west of the Lemoore Naval Air Station, near Dickenson Avenue. The driver, identified as Nathan Olivia, 17-year-old from Visalia, he was operating a GMC pickup truck at speeds above 60 mph on the highway when he went off the road and slammed into a ditch, according to the CHP. The pickup vehicle then flipped over onto its roof.
Oliva was thrown from the vehicle because he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was declared dead at the site. Based at the Fresno County Coroner’s Office,he was a student at Mt. Whitney High School. The vehicle’s 19-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries.
CHP investigators are still examining the collision to establish the reasons involved at this time.
