Multnomah County, Oregon (Portland, OR) – On April 21, 2026, a solo-vehicle collision left three people dead in Portland, OR.
According to police, the incident began when officers attempted to stop a white 1996 Toyota Corolla. The driver fled at a high rate of speed, driving through Tom McCall Waterfront Park before crashing through a seawall fence and plunging into the river.
The car became fully submerged, leaving three people dead and only one survivor. Authorities identified the victims as Jakob Esperum, a 20-year-old, Roberto C. Garcia-Chavez, a 19-year-old, and Trent Badillo, a 17-year-old, all from Beavercreek in Clackamas County.
Police confirmed that Garcia-Chavez was driving at the time of the crash.
