El Dorado County, California (Camino, CA) – On February 8, 2022, a 14-year-old teenage girl was killed in a hit-and-run accident in El Dorado County. The motorist was apprehended a few hours later.
Just after 4 p.m., the teenager was strolling around Carson Road east of Barkley Road near Camino. When she was struck by the latest model white Honda CR-V, nearby streets were blocked, with no indication of when they might reopen.
Police arrived and discovered the girl lifeless on the site. The impact with the girl is thought to have caused damage to the front bumper and windshield on the passenger side of the car. It was last spotted heading west on Carson Road toward Placerville.
The car and operator was found around 7:30 p.m., but no further information on whether the person was taken into custody was available. About a half-hour later, the agency revised its post to indicate that the motorist was in custody.
