Kern County, California (Fort Tejon, CA) – On June 26, 2022, an individual died in an accident on Interstate 5 south of Bakersfield on Sunday night.
The collision occurred about 9:47 p.m. just north of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, just south of Grapevine Road. A car veered off the road and down an embankment about 100 feet away. At the site, at least one individual was pronounced deceased.
P. Thammaaly, 41-year-old, was operating a Toyota Tundra with passengers on board in Modesto. As per the coroner’s authorities, a Toyota back occupant, Khamlounh Thammaaly, 63-year-old, of Arvin, died in the collision. She was pronounced dead on the spot. A Peterbilt vehicle tractor operated by John McCord, 59-year-old, of Tehachapi, CA, and an Acura ILX operated by Jhovanni Hernanded, 27-year-old, of San Jose, CA, were also involved.
The cause of the collision was quickly determined.
